Culture vultures, diplomats and outdoor enthusiasts dig this riverside neighborhood best known as home to the Kennedy Center and the State Department. Stretching from the Potomac River to the western edge of Georgetown, Foggy Bottom takes its name from the fog that naturally lingers here. It’s marked by big-name cultural and diplomatic edifices as well as the southern end of Rock Creek Park. It’s bordered by the West End, a hotel- and restaurant-rich zone next to Georgetown.
The biggest draw for tourists and residents? The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the Potomac River-side performing arts center is a living memorial dedicated to President John F. Kennedy, known for his promotion of culture. World-class music, dance and drama performances take place here nearly every day of the year on nine stages. The Millennium Stage hosts free shows nightly at 6 p.m., too.
Other landmarks include the U.S. Department of State, where the art- and antique-loaded Diplomatic Reception rooms can be toured by appointment. Look for Chippendale furniture and rare landscape paintings. The IMF and World Bank make their homes here too, and lend an international vibe to the whole zone. The Watergate building, site of the 1972 Democratic National Committee break-in that ignited a scandal, still holds apartments and a luxurious, five-star hotel with an elegant French-inspired restaurant, fab rooftop and intimate whisk(e)y bar.
Foggy Bottom also holds the southernmost end of Rock Creek Park, DC’s 2,100 acre green space. Pick up biking and running trails near the Kennedy Center for riverside views and nature-viewing ops.
Restaurants and bars thrive here, too, many serving George Washington University, where the urban campus takes up several blocks. Try Tonic at Quigley’s Pharmacy for brews and tater tots with the undergrads or Founding Farmers restaurant for hearty farm-to-plate fare in a mod, buzzy space. In the West End, upmarket restaurants include the Blue Duck Tavern for elegant seasonal American fare like local oysters, wood-fired vegetables and duck.

1) Our properties are protected by Truvi. Please note that if you book a short-term rental (under 30 days), you will be contacted by Truvi directly to verify yourself. Please make sure this is completed prior to check-in.
2) Please confirm that you accept the following House Rules and Responsibilities on behalf of yourself and guests. A violation of the House Rules can result in an immediate termination of your reservation without refund.
For the comfort of our guests, residents and members of the Sojourn team, smoking of any kind (marijuana, cigarettes, or vaping) is not permitted anywhere in the interior of our building or within fifty (50) feet of our building, including outdoor spaces. Should our team or neighbors report the odor of smoke we will contact the booking service, terminate your stay, claim any and all damages, including but not limited to a $500 smoking fee, and post the appropriate review.
Parties and events are strictly prohibited. All Sojourn homes are equipped with noise monitoring devices (decibel readers), your privacy is safe however, noise levels exceeding normal levels are grounds for ending your stay and are strictly enforced. In the event we are notified of any excess noise, music, gathering or parties a Sojourn representative will respond and your reservation will be terminated without refund. Please also note that all Sojourn buildings and homes are equipped with some type of exterior camera that records the exterior and common areas to include all entries to the building.
What NOT to Flush Down the Toilet or put down drains or in the garbage disposal - If found that these cause plumbing issues Sojourn can and will charge the guest.

3) If you are booking a flat that allows pets the pet fee is $75 per pet per week. This only applies to pet friendly listings.
4) We are happy to provide both a Pack and Play and/or high chair. These must be reserved in advance and a $25 rental fee will be charged.
5) If you are booking a flat in Washington DC, we have several parking options. Please inquire about advanced parking pass or parking space reservations. Please note that neither Sojourn nor the property owner shall be held liable for any loss, theft, damage, or injury to the vehicle or any personal property therein, nor for any injury to the driver, passengers, or any other person, arising out of or in connection with the use of the parking space. Any use of the parking space is at the sole risk of the vehicle owner or driver. Neither Sojourn nor the owner guarantee the safety or security of any vehicle parked in the parking space and disclaims any responsibility for any acts of theft, vandalism, or other criminal activity.
6) There may be times where the home needs unexpected, or scheduled preventative maintenance. While we do our best not to interrupt your stay with us, sometimes this cannot be avoided thus Sojourn reserves the right to gain access to the properties at any time, after providing our guests with 24 hour written notice.View More

Die Wohnung war traumhaft schön, hat eine ausgezeichnete super Lage, man konnte alles schnell erreichen, etwas hellhörig,aber kein Problem
Super Aufteilung der Wohnung,Küche, Schlafzimmer und Terrasse wunderbar.
Die Miete der Wohnung war nicht so günstig, aber ich würde die Wohnung jedem empfehlen und würde auf jeden Fall wiederkommen.
Der Service war ausgezeichnet. Innerhalb von Minuten wurden alle Fragen beantwortet. Sehr zuverlässig. Die Beschreibung der Wohnung stimmte genau.
Vielen Dank für die tolle Zeit in Washington D.C. Sojourn was very quick to respond to any communication, always polite and solution oriented. This place is beautiful, peaceful and well worth it. Nicely decorated, not cluttered, the kitchen is well equipped. As someone said earlier you can hear the neighbor above a little, but everyone was respectful and quiet, no noise in the night. It is a quiet neighborhood as well, for a good restful sleep. In all worth the money. Mir hat der Aufenthalt in der Wohnung sehr gut gefallen. Ich war 3 Monate dort.
Toll war, dass Soujorn immer erreichbar war und sehr schnell antwortete.
Die Wohnung ist sehr schön. Mir hat die Einrichtung gut gefallen. Praktisch sind die Einbauschränke, die Küche ist gut ausgestattet und die Wohnung ist größer, als ich dachte.
Unschlagbar ist die Lage, das ist das Beste an der Wohnung!
Was man wissen sollte: Die Wohnung ist extrem hellhörig. Man hört stark die Nachbarn oben und unten. Der Boden besteht aus alten Dielen, sodass man hört, wenn die Nachbarn auf diesem laufen.
Zudem ist die Wohnung nicht für 4 Personen geeignet. In dem Bett können zwar 2 Personen schlafen, aber das Schlafsofa ist nur für eine Person geeignet. Zudem ist es kein richtiges Schlafsofa und extrem unbequem. Dies würde ich nur für 1-2 Nächte empfehlen.
Mich hat sehr geärgert, dass es zwar einen schönen Garten gibt, aber alle 6 Stühle kaputt waren. Sie wurden auch auf mehrfache Nachfrage nicht ersetzt. Host was communicative and the place was exactly what we wanted! Great location too!!
