Please note that it is a lively neighborhood where this unit is located. Delve in to African-American history and a cool shopping and food scene in some of DC’s oldest neighborhoods. The sites of businesses, theaters and rowhouses since the 19th-century, this neighborhood is situated east of the U Street corridor, famously known as “Black Broadway” thanks to still-in-business spots like the Lincoln Theatre and the Howard Theatre. It was there, in the early 20th-century, where acts like Cab Calloway and Pearl Bailey once played. Nearby, the legendary 9:30 Club hosts rock and alternative acts in a two-level, warehouse-like space.
Shaw and Petwork are now some of the city’s hippest up-and-coming neighborhoods, with attractions like the shops and eateries at The Shay and the Atlantic Plumbing complexes and bustling cafes like Compass Coffee and La Colomb and the amazing District Pilates!

I booked one of Sojourns property’s off GA Ave. For close to 3 weeks . The property was easy to find. However- 1st night I had no hot water leading into the second day , the kitchen faucet was dead and not working. They came to fix them however only fixed the hot water ( still not that hot) . A few days later DC did water repairs & I was without any running water for a day but they were nice enough to leave gallons outside my door after I addressed the inconvenience.
Leading further into my stay I heard scratching in the walls. It was a rat. The rat ended up OUT in the living room, and kitchen I had to lock myself and my dog in the bedroom over night to stay away from the rat who was running through all my things. then moved me to another property the next day. Super inconvenient to move all my things again. I got no sleep & missed an important appt having to relocate. They shut down the prior property & offered me $10 refund & stopped communicating .My stay was $2600!!

Great place, great vibe just sometimes neighbors are a little rowdy and there’s allot of police presence. Overall I would most def recommend staying here I spent some of my time while staying here thinking about some of the lukewarm (albeit generally positive) reviews and for the record, this place is great and has everything you need. I dropped my wife off and she called me immediately saying the place was gorgeous. Thanks for everything!
