The area is situated between the historic neighborhoods of LeDroit Park and Bloomingdale. LeDroit Park, established in 1873, is known for its Victorian architecture, tree-lined streets, and strong ties to Howard University, featuring community spaces like The Park at LeDroit and Common Good City Farm. Bloomingdale, with its early 20th-century rowhouses, offers a vibrant mix of restaurants, bars, and markets, fostering a strong sense of community. There is a Whole Foods market located 0.6 miles from the property. The location provides easy access to public transportation, including the Shaw-Howard University Metro station, and is highly walkable and bike-friendly.
The best ways to travel around the area include the Shaw-Howard University Metro Station (Green and Yellow lines) for quick access to downtown, several Metro bus routes along Florida Ave NW, and the area's walkability and bike-friendliness, with access to Capital Bikeshare stations. Rideshare services are widely available, while street parking and nearby garages offer limited options for drivers. For convenience and affordability, Metro and biking are ideal, while rideshares provide flexibility for quick trips.

What a great experience! The details are what makes this place. It is obvious that all of the special touches in this place were carefully thought out. It is the first Airbnb we have stayed at in awhile that wasn't all IKEA furniture. This was really wood furniture. The artwork is local artwork, not the same IKEA prints you see everywhere. The chargers next to the bed, the dimmer switch in the bedroom, the bluetooth speaker in the bathroom, the DC books scattered throughout the apartment...all contributed to the wonderful stay. The apartment was also very clean. A lot of the places appear clean, but after a day of living there you see the dirty baseboards, hair in the shower and the nasty corners, not this place. It was about a 6 minute walk to the Metro, very convenient. Peter Bay

Great place, in an area with lots of good restaurants - Royal just next door and DCity Smokehouse just down the road. And 9:30 (concerts) close by. We loved the place! Everything was set up very thoughtfully and it had everything we needed for cooking! The flat was also very clean and the noise of the road outside was not too noticeable. However it is worth mentioning that the nearby hospital resulted in quite a lot of ambulances passing by with their sirens. Jasmine

Stayed in DC this past weekend for Howard’s Homecoming. This space is the perfect location, walking distance from campus and all the U Street bars and restaurants.
Small but spacious with high ceilings. Great sustainability practices. Everything we needed!
Loved the welcome packet answering all our questions before we even thought about them. Great organization and communication!
5 out of 5! Would definitely recommend! And will definitely be staying again!
