My wife and I are folks who never really get out of our comfort zone. Where we live is fairly rural and we’ve never stayed in any big city of any kind. We decided this year was the year we’d change that. Fast forward to us booking this place in DC for Thanksgiving and mannnnn am I glad we did. For people like us who have never Uber’d or ridden the metro, we had so much fun learning how and exploring the city. Probably the biggest reason why we loved it so much is because this house immediately made us feel at home.
We were comfortable right away and the location is so good! I messaged Nicole and asked for recommendations on how to handle getting groceries and stuff like that. Within few minutes, I had a list of grocery stores that were in walking distance, as well as examples of how to handle rideshare services.
This trip will be a core memory for us. Thank you to Nicole and the Soujourn crew. Y’all are the coolest, this house rules, and we will definitely be back! The photos do not at all match the reality of the location. The house is very old and needs maintenance, such as the kitchen faucet, flooring, and other minor things. The bathrooms were extremely tight. If I were a plus sized person, I don't think I would be comfortable trying to use the downstairs powder room especially. All of the furniture seems old and very used. The upstairs bathroom tub was gross. The entire thing needs to be replaced or at least wash or change the shower curtains. There are also rats scurrying all in the back alley in broad daylight, can't imagine how many might be back there at night. Owner probably can't control that but a heads up would've been nice. The only upside was that the kitchen appliances are new, but if you're not planning to cook that doesn't really matter. We ended our trip early because it just wasn't as comfortable as a stay as we would have liked. Wonderful place in a great neighborhood. House was prefect. Would love to stay again. Hosts were extremely helpful and communicative. Debajyoti

Great safe location, although closeness to major road is noisy. House is historic and very charming and bigger than expected. Host was very responsive to a couple of issues that came up. Very nice neighborhood.
